Why join our Thailand Assistant Instructor training?

When you train as an Assistant Instructor, you’ll get your first insight into the Instructor Development Course.  The PADI Assistant Instructor Course covers about 30% of the full IDC, and is perfect if you don’t have enough time to complete the full IDC, but want to get started.  It’s also great for Divemasters who want to do a bit more, but don’t want to do their IDC yet, or are not sure if teaching is for them.

Your Assistant Instructor course is run by our in-house Course Director, Ann, who is dedicated to teaching you to become a PADI professional.  Some of the things that make our course special:

learning to teach on an IDC

Thorough briefings for each activity

PADI Assistant Instructor

You can start the Assistant Instructor Course with 60 dives and a Divemaster Certification (or equivalent from another training agency).  For those who did their Divemaster Course with another agency, this is a great way of learning how the PADI training system works.

Go2Similan aims for the most thorough training and our goal is to make you an employable Assistant Instructor who is ready to go on to become an Instructor.

What is the Go2Similan Assistant Instructor training program like?

When you join Go2Similan, you’ll see that things are different. We are passionate about safety and service. We are a small dive centre with a personal touch. You will be mentored through the course by our own in-house Course Director, Ann Christmas, but you’ll work alongside other instructors too.

Add the extra to your CV and experience.Spend some time in the tropics, have fun, enjoy amazing Thai food, dive some of the best dive sites in the world (Similan Islands, Richelieu Rock, Koh Bon , Koh Tachai), visit white sand beaches and make yourself more employable!  Take this opportunity, and get in touch.

Go2Similans Assistant Instructor training program will bring you experience, knowledge and skills that allow you to work as a dive professional anywhere in the world. Because it’s run by a Course Director, you know that your mentor has lots of experience, and if you want to move on to become an instructor she’ll make sure you are ready.

We view this as an extension of your Divemaster Course- something that makes you stand out from the crowd.
It’s a stepping stone for those are not yet ready or able to become an Instructor.

You will get back as much as you put in

We will give you expert instruction, regular feedback and reviews, and support you all the way.  We want you to join in and be a part of the team.  We hope that you’ll put the effort into your study, take part in all the activities, and make the most of all the opportunities that we offer you.  If you do, you’ll have an amazing time, learn so much more than you expected, and come out ready to work as a dive professional.

Did you know that Go2Similan is the only 100% Aware dive centre in Khao Lak?

We donate to Project Aware with every certification that we issue.  Not only do we donate to Project Aware, we also support Shark Guardian and take an active part in cleaning up our local environment and ecosystem with Trash Hero Khao Lak – YOU will be an active part of this too. We believe that as dive professionals, it is our responsibility to increase the environmental awareness of everyone we work with.  We hope that you too will carry on, educating not just your customers, but the dive centre you eventually work at and your fellow divers about conservation efforts and community actions.

Staying and living in Khao Lak

Khao Lak is a seaside resort town on the West coast of Thailand. It’s the closest point to the Similan Island National Park (one of the top ten dive sites of the world). It’s just an hour north of Phuket.

Living here is fairly cheap with lots of relaxed places to live. We offer hostel accommodation on site at Andaman Sweetlips as part of the all-inclusive package, or you can book yourself into a local hotel / bungalow.

Khao Lak has some beautiful beaches, and waterfalls just a few minute ride away.  The Khao Sok national park is just an hour from here, and you should definitely make time while you are here to go visit it.

Khao Lak isn’t a party town. Sure it’s got bars and restaurants, but what it’s best at is being a hub for divers and diving. It’s a great place to learn. If you are serious about becoming a diving professional, you’ll fit right in
